Vibrant and eye-catching, this vintage Royal Albert Gossamer tea set includes 6 trios – 6 tea cups, 6 saucers, and 6 side plates – in a rainbow of colours. This is the Gossamer pattern, a striking design from the 1940s-50s featuring a delicate spongeware-style marbled effect with gilt trim. Each trio is in a different colour, creating that much-loved harlequin look.
Plates are approx. 16 cm, saucers 14 cm, cups 8.5 cm across the rim and 7.5 cm tall (excluding handle). Mostly in good vintage condition but do note the following:
The grey cup’s handle has been broken and glued back.
Two saucers (rusty orange and green) have also been broken and glued.
All handles show wear to the gilt (as is typical with age).
Despite the flaws, this is a stunning set with real character – perfect for display or a lively afternoon tea. Bright, bold, and not something you see every day.
