About the Mark & Age:
The underside of the bowl features a red and gold Japanese backstamp, a common marking on mid-to-late 20th century (c. 1950s–1980s) Satsuma-style pottery. This type of mark was used by various Japanese kilns producing hand-painted decorative ceramics, inspired by traditional Meiji-era Satsuma ware. The bowl’s delicate crazing, intricate design, and gold detailing reflect the classic Satsuma aesthetic, making it a beautiful and collectible piece of vintage Japanese pottery.
A stunning little piece of Japanese artistry, ideal for collectors or as a unique decorative accent.
