Vintage Burleigh Ware toby jug featuring Sam Weller, the loyal and witty servant from Charles Dickens’ Pickwick Papers. Part of the collectible Dickens Character Series produced by Burgess & Leigh, this piece was designed by E.T. Bailey and dates from the 1960s–70s.
Hand-painted in fine detail, this 6" jug captures Sam Weller’s expressive face and Victorian attire. A whimsical ceramic figure with great colour and character. Marked to base.
In excellent condition – no chips, cracks or repairs.
